Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
By creating a ChefSpot account, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English on purpose.
What ChefSpot is
ChefSpot lets private chefs publish a profile, list menus, and manage client inquiries and bookings from one dashboard. We charge a flat monthly subscription for Pro features — never a commission on your bookings.
Your account
- · One account per chef. Keep your login credentials secure — you're responsible for activity under your account.
- · You must provide accurate information and be legally able to offer the services you list, including any licenses or permits your jurisdiction requires. That's your responsibility, not ours.
Subscriptions & billing
- · Free tier is free indefinitely, with the limits described on our pricing page.
- · Pro is billed monthly. The first 100 subscribers lock in a $12/month founding rate for as long as their subscription stays continuously active; standard pricing is $29/month.
- · Billing is handled by Polar, our merchant of record — subscribing means you also agree to Polar's own terms of service.
- · Cancel anytime from your dashboard. You keep Pro access through the end of the period you've already paid for; we don't provide partial-period refunds.
Bookings & client payments
ChefSpot tracks booking status and deposit confirmations — it does not process payments between you and your clients. You and your client handle payment directly, through whichever method you've chosen to display on your profile. We have no visibility into whether money actually changed hands beyond what you and your client each mark in the app, and we don't mediate payment or cancellation disputes between you and your clients.
Content you publish
- · You're responsible for the accuracy of your profile, menus, pricing, and any claims you make.
- · Don't impersonate another chef or business, or claim a slug or brand name you don't have rights to — see our trademark takedown process if you believe a profile infringes on your name.
- · We may suspend or remove a profile that violates these terms or applicable law.
Acceptable use
- · Don't scrape, spam, or attempt to circumvent rate limits or security controls.
- · Don't use ChefSpot's inquiry or booking forms to collect people's data for purposes unrelated to their request.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time by emailing us (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.
Limitation of liability
ChefSpot is provided “as is.” We're not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including disputes with your clients over bookings or payment. Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Changes to these terms
If we update these terms in a meaningful way, we'll email you before the change takes effect. Continued use of ChefSpot after that constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith discussion first — please email us before lawyering up.
